Chapter Nine

Chapter Nine
Divine Encounter

"Arise, Rorek," spoke a booming perfect voice.
Rorek climbed to his feet. Disoriented, he looked around, all he could see was pure, unending, white. Until his eyes fell upon two robed figures, standing with their hands behind their backs.
"Where am I?" questioned Rorek, "I should be dead after a blow like that," said Rorek perfectly. "Why aren't I injured anymore, my wounds are healed, all of my scars are gone. What...What happened?"
"You are dead," said one of the robed figures, "you are among the gods," spoke the first man, wearing a set of white robes.
"If I am dead, why can I still exist?" asked Rorek.
"You have been granted an extraordinary privilege," said the second man, this one wearing green, "when an entity dies, they cease to exist, there lifeless body remains in Gielinor, but the soul is obliterated. You, on the other hand, have died, and are standing here, speaking with gods. You have been given this great gift because we know you are the only one who can save Gielinor.
"Save Gielinor?" asked Rorek, "Lathas is only hurting West Ardougne. How can he be endangering the entire world?"
"Lathas, at this point, is only endangering West Ardougne. However, over the years, Lathas becomes greedy, he begins to tire of West Ardougne's money. He decides to take over all of Gielinor. That, is why we need you," said the man in the green robes.
"What about Orik? He's no sorcerer, but he's more than capable of beating me in a match of brute strength," said Rorek confidently.
"Have you forgotten," said the two deities simultaneously," That Orik is being held captive by the summoner of the very being that killed you? How are you going to save Gielinor if you cannot remember something that recent?"
"How am I to save the world from being enslaved by Lathas if I am dead?" asked Rorek bitterly.
"Desperate times call for desperate measures," said the deities, still in unison. " We shall resurrect you."
Suddenly Rorek was overcome with a torrent of painful blackness, as if all of his evil were being flushed back into him.
"What do you expect?" The green robed man's voice a dull echo in Rorek's head. "If you enter a perfect place such as that, you have to be drained of all evil. When you leave, it will be returned. Remember your objective Rorek, never give up!"
The deity's ethereal voice vanished from Rorek's head completely.
