Chapter Four
Into The Tunnel
"I'm going to need a new house," murmured Orik as the trio trudged through the remnants of what used to be Orik's home.
"We better get going to East Ardougne and see if we can find a way into the blocked off half of the city," declared Sage Gower.
"We better get going to East Ardougne and see if we can find a way into the blocked off half of the city," declared Sage Gower.
----Meanwhile----
"Check on the army!!,'' bellowed King Lathas.
"As you wish," sighed the necromancer.
The necromancer went into a trance like state momentarily.
"They're all fine," reported the necromancer.
"Oh, and I've gotten word from the Mourners. It appears they've collected another body." "Good, release the shade into the tunnels," laughed King Lathas.
----------
The trio made their way through the northern gates of the large city of East Ardougne.
"I've heard rumors about a man by the name of Edgar, that's been smuggling people into West Ardougne," said Gower.
They passed the market place where merchants were trying to sell goods, and occasionally slapping away the hands of shifty looking characters loitering around the stalls. They made their way through rows of houses, asking if the occupants knew of any Edgar in town. Finally they came to a big, two story house, with a tall fence encircling the yard. Orik, Rorek, and Gower knocked on the door to the house. The door opened a crack, and a pair of eyes peeked through.
"Who's there?" asked the man behind the door.
"Are you Edgar?" questioned Rorek.
The door opened wider.
"What do you want?" asked Edgar.
"We want a way to get into West Ardougne," said Orik.
"Come in," said Edgar.
Edgar led them around to the back of the house, were a bear patch of dirt and some shovels were in what's left of` a garden.
"Dig through here, It opens into a tunnel and leads into an unused dungeon. You should find a passage from there to the surface," instructed Edgar.
"Thank you for your assistance," said Gower.
"I'll start digging," volunteered Rorek.
"Wait,'' said Gower.
Orik walked onto the patch and stood over by Rorek.
Gower's staff began to glow. He tapped the butt of his staff into the earth.
"Atra Elom," said Gower.
The patch of scarred ground fell away, spraying a torrent of dust everywhere, and leaving the two brothers coughing on the floor of the tunnel.
"You could've warned us!!!," yelled the brothers in perfect unison.
"Sorry," laughed Gower.
"Let's see how you like it!," yelled the brothers.
''ATRA ELOM!"
The combined strength of their magical abilities sent the spell hurtling at Gower. Gower easily jumped it. He was about to yell at them when a sickening crunch sounded.
"MY HOUSE!!!!!" exploded Edgar.
''Ermm...We'll fix it later!" yelled Orik and Rorek, as they ran down the tunnel.
"Not again....." muttered Gower, as he began to chase after them.
