Chapter Six
Death Of A Sage
The shade murmured an ancient curse in a language only it knew. Gower foresaw what it planned to do.
"SHIELD!!,'' bellowed Gower.
A brilliant emerald cube of light encased Orik. Bewildered, the shade instead aimed the ancient death curse at Gower.
Gower dodged a moment to late and the curse caught his robe. He was instantly engulfed in a torrent of silver fire. Gower's body fell to the floor as he was consumed in the blaze. Tears burned in Rorek's eyes as he watched Gower burn. Consumed with rage at the entity that had slain the mighty Sage, Rorek charged the shade with renewed vigor, and slashed into its billowing folds of darkness until the monster howled with pain. Rorek braced himself to deliver the death blow, but the being screamed and phased through the roof of the tunnel, leaving Rorek stunned, and confused.
